Let’s start with a breakfast treat and yes, another fine recipe. This one requires one of those stick-down-in-the-pot handheld blender thingys.

Hot Freakin’ Yummy Chocolate (according to me and the girls at Feminist Mormon Housewives)
2 C. whole milk
1/4 C. water
1/8 C. sugar (for that you fill your 1/4 C. half way)
4 oz. semi-sweet chocolate, melted* (the best quality you can find/afford)
Bring the milk, water, and sugar to a simmer in a saucepan. Add the chocolate, and stirring with a whisk, heat the mixture until one bubble pops on the surface. Okay, you don’t have to be that anal about it. Pull the saucepan from the heat and whip the hot chocolate for 1 minute with an immersion blender. Serve immediately. Add sweetened whipped cream if desired. What ever you do, do not add Cool Whip, because this would fatally adulterate the finished product.
*To melt the chocolate, break into pieces and put it into a glass or ceramic bowl–do not use metal. The bowl needs to be wide enough to rest on a saucepan of barely simmering water. As the bowl is thus perched, stir chocolate frequently until it is just melted, then remove promptly from heat or the chocolate will start to clump.
Then Brian took the kids to Disneyland all day!!! I can’t even tell you how much I got done. It was so nice.

After our BBQ dinner (we can do that in CA in the winter), Amaiah dressed her kids and put herself to bed. She does this every night. I guess I can’t complain about anything ever again.
