Never again will you be 5, 4, 3, 2, 1…

God teach me how to raise this boy! This boy that you’ve made way too similar to his mother.

Tonight you asked me to come get a cricket out of your room

I sent you away telling you it was just a cricket

Instantly I realized I wanted nothing more than to be your Cricket-Slayer

I stood still, silent and waited

Hoping you would come back and ask me again

You did not

I walked away

  1. Dad Says:

Hey now. We need to slay the crickets. They are loud, annoying and not aloud in the house. They know better and have to be taught a lesson. Don’t worry, he was only testing you. Our son is a dragon slayer and will not have a problem taking down a little cricket. He probably let his mighty hunting hamster loose and went to work hunting and capturing the cricket. So don’t worry, he didn’t return for a second time because he had mission and wanted to complete it.

  4. Jerry Says:

Sometimes it’s just best to do as the Beatles (oops a pun) sang, “Let it be.” Crickets represent good luck.

  5. Sarah Says:

Oh, right in the heart. You got me.
