Bedroom Update July 13, 2009

So you remember the goal right?

Here’s what I’ve done so far. Notice anything missing? Right, just the focal point of the room, that stinking yellow bed. It’s a $200 Ikea bed (sitting on a $4000 rug, don’t you love when designers do that?). The biggest it comes is a queen, which we considered and then decided against since all the kiddos must at least be able to fit in there with us. So…we’re going to make it. I’m also keeping my eyes peeled for a lovely furry trunk. I haven’t changed the bedding either or bought that faux fox throw, I think I’m waiting for the bed. But it’s coming along.

That stinking bed. Who is holding up the progress, oh me. I am working on it. Be patient it is in the making and when it is done it will be beautiful. So the rest looks great huh.

Eh, forget the bed we’ll sleep in the beautiful garden that you made us. Love you!

Your room looks so great–the pictures do not do it justice. That pop of yellow will look good though. BTW, I was at Z Gallerie At South Coast Plaza, and thought of you when I saw their faux fur Zanzibar throw. It gets the vibe of the one in your inspiration pic. You can look at it online, but the pic doesn’t show how it really looks laid out. http://www.zgallerie.com/p-6788-zanzibar-throw.aspx
The shading really gets that banded feel, and the color in the store is a bit lighter and softer, much like the one in your inspiration picture. It was list price of $99.

I personally really love the chest you found–great shape and lines. Maybe you can bring the cowhide texture in with an upholstered side table in cowhide, or find a smaller cowhide chest to use as a side table , or find a cowhide to drape on the big chest?

    Looks great! Hugs!
